From running a safe, loving old age home to serving warm meals every single day — here is every way Neyam Foundation cares for, feeds and uplifts elderly people across Tamil Nadu.
Neyam Foundation is a government-recognised public charitable trust in Tamil Nadu. Born from the conviction that no elder should spend their later years alone, hungry or uncared for, we run a free old age home and daily meal programme for thousands of senior citizens every year — from shelter and nutritious food to medical care and companionship.
Six core programs — each designed to give elderly citizens the shelter, food, care and dignity they deserve across Tamil Nadu.
Our resident doctors and visiting specialists provide regular health checkups, medicines and treatment for every elder in our home and outreach camps — at absolutely no cost.
We identify elders who need life-saving operations — cardiac, orthopaedic, cataract — and fully sponsor their surgery and hospital costs when families cannot afford it.
Loneliness is one of the hardest battles elders face. We provide free counselling, friendly visits and community engagement that bring warmth and connection back into their lives.
Three wholesome, home-cooked meals a day — every single day — for every elder in our care, prepared with love and balanced nutrition for their age and health needs.
Our caregiving team does not stop at admission. We monitor each elder's health, mobility and medication daily, ensuring early detection of issues and continuous, attentive care.
For urgent cases — falls, sudden cardiac events or critical illness — our rapid response network connects elders to hospital care and covers emergency treatment costs.
Our end-to-end process ensures no elder is left alone, hungry or uncared for — from the first visit to lifelong companionship.
Field teams identify elders living alone, abandoned, or without family support in villages and towns across the region.
Our doctors examine each elder, run diagnostics and assess their shelter, food and medical needs.
Neyam provides a safe home, daily meals and coordinates with partner hospitals for any required treatment or surgery.
Our caregivers provide daily companionship, monitor health and ensure every elder lives the rest of their life with dignity and comfort.
Neyam Foundation runs a safe, clean and welcoming old age home for elders who have nowhere else to turn — abandoned, without family, or simply unable to live alone any longer. Every resident gets a comfortable bed, sanitation, clothing and round-the-clock caregiver support.
Beyond shelter, our home is a community — residents share meals, festivals and daily routines together, supported by a caring staff who treat every elder like family.
No elder under our care goes hungry. Our kitchens prepare wholesome, home-style meals three times a day for every resident, with special attention to diet needs for diabetes, blood pressure and age-related health conditions.
We also carry this commitment beyond our walls — delivering food support to elders living alone in nearby villages who have no one to cook for them.
Loneliness and grief are often invisible burdens for elders, especially those separated from family. Neyam Foundation's mental wellness program brings certified counsellors directly to our home and to the community, offering free individual sessions, group activities and friendly companionship.
We have conducted over 1,200 counselling and companionship sessions, helping elders feel seen, heard and valued every single day.
Our programs are for elders who need it most. Here is who qualifies for our old age home, daily meals, free treatment and other services.
Senior citizens with a BPL card or income below ₹1.5 lakh per annum are eligible for shelter, food, medical care and counselling — completely free of cost.
Elders residing in villages and small towns across Tamil Nadu with limited access to care, food or family support are our primary beneficiaries.
Senior citizens abandoned by family, living alone without support, or in need of companionship receive priority care and a home with us.
Elders with life-threatening cardiac, orthopaedic, cataract or other conditions who cannot afford hospitalisation are assessed on a case-by-case basis.
